Adding a Pantry When There is No Room
Necessity is the mother of invention and I guess that's true. If I hadn't needed the space I never would have thought of this. Sorry I didn't take pictures as I was working on this with my husband. I'm lucky enough to have solid wood doors, I don't think it would work with hollow core doors.
I have four doors in my kitchen and two open doorways, not much room for cupboards.
My shelves are four inches deep
with a half inch railing. Screws were used to attach the shelves individually. This allows you to create convenient heights for your items. Just a hint from my experience, be sure there is good access to door knobs. Allow enough room on hinge side to close the door. I didn't,which made more work. Luckily we had only installed three shelves. These doors are side by side, one opens to a coat closet, the other goes to my basement.
In my previous home, there wasn't much space so I cut a hole in the wall, between the sheet rock, added shelves and had hubby make a frame and door.
